The name “Creative Pursuits” reflects the drive in us all to make ourselves, our surroundings, and our lives better. If there were no such desires, our houses would be boxes with plain white walls, our clothes would look like something out of Star Trek (solid color jumpsuits), there would be no jewelry or makeup, and any pictures we took would be in plain photo albums (or shoeboxes).
The items Creative Pursuits has available are ever-changing, ranging from jewelry to vinyl (sticky and magnetic) to anything my mind comes up with! I also teach classes in jewelry making and sell tutorials and kits of my designs.
I’m one of those who has felt the creative pull her whole life. As a child, I started with latch hook rugs, potholder loop weaving, and long-stitch embroidery, but I quickly moved on to cross stitch, crewel, pressed flower pictures, and a host of other crafts. I have made candles and soap and have dabbled in painting and stenciling. Now I concentrate on jewelry making, scrapbooking, stamping, crocheting, and knitting. I frequently use techniques from multiple crafts in my creations. One of my mottos is, “If it’s inanimate, it can be stamped on!”
I love teaching, especially classes in the creative arts. Seeing the creations that my students make fills me with a sense of pride. I hope to see you in one of my classes!
